Catherine recently married the the love of her life, Bob, and is the mother of five children and grandmother of five.  She is a retired high school principal, medical/clinical social worker, author, and the new Ms. Maine Senior America 2026.  She is a very active volunteer for many organizations and spends her days working fervently in the service of others.  She shared all of this information to demonstrate that strokes do not discriminate based on age, activity level, gender, or previously assumed good health.

Catherine suffered two strokes (TIA's) without warning in 2019, when she turned 70 years old.  Initially the events were shocking and life changing, as she soon realized that having two strokes undermined her confidence and sense of well-being; she felt her body had betrayed her.  However, being a determined woman, she decided early on in her recovery that she would not be defined by her strokes, nor would she stop living her life to the fullest.  She began sharing the transparency of her life experience to show others that strokes can happen to anyone and that early identification of the warning signs and immediate medical assistance leads to better outcomes.

Please join us on our July podcast to hear Catherine's personal journey back to good health based on her faith, confidence, courage and ability to overcome life's challenges.
