( BEING REBOOKED) Richard Sabatino, had not felt well during March, 2019, had mild headaches and some balance issues and was referred to a neurologist for tests. A CT scan and a MRI indicated small collections of blood in his brain. He then visited a Neurosurgeon who performed CT scans every two weeks and the blood collections had increased as the weeks passed. The doctors explained that the small amount of blood could be absorbed over time as long as the amount didn't become dangerous. Subsequent imaging on May 17th, 2019 indicated the blood collections had enlarged and were creating a serious problem and he immediately went to the hospital where he underwent three surgeries in a twelve day period to relieve bilateral subdural hematomas on his brain. This was the start of a 28 day hospital stay. Richard will share the full story of his experience and bring awareness and hope to our audience.
Returning guest Patti Foster's life came to a screeching halt after a devastating horrific car accident where everyone died including her, and miraculously she was brought back to life. She suffered a traumatic brain injury, spent 101 days in the hospital, followed by acute, in-patient rehab, in-patienty transitional rehab, and out-patient transitional rehab. Then, discharged to home, where she struggled and persevered to re-learn every single basic function of living and to "put it in living color!"
Today, Patti Foster travels the world, as an "Inspirational Communicator," sometimes alone, and other times with Hope After Brain Injury, a non-profit brain injury organization based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is the Vice President of this organization. Patti brings hope to all that have suffered brain injuries, works with caregivers and care-partners and helps them realize they're not alone, and health care professionals get to witness what a POSITIVE difference her skills bring to more people's lives that they would ever have imagined.
Pastor Dr. Jim Henry is the Founder and Creator of the Life Givers Network and the Author of After Diagnosis: LIFE! Jim is a Creator, Author, Mentor, Counselor, and a Coach to many, Seminar/Workshop Leaders, Pastor and Short-Term Missionary, and is known as a Spiritual Father to many young and not so you men.
Our guests bring together their experience working with stroke/brain injuries and enlighten the public to bring help and positive outcomes to all.
